Guns: Loved, Universally

I believe that the firearm is one of the few inventions that truly unites humanity. Whatever emotions people claim to have about guns, love, hate, fear, joy, resent, respect, no one in the world is un-aware of guns, and no one is truly un-interested in them.
The haters spend more time fascinated by them than the lovers. Those who fear spend more time thinking about them, worrying about them, than those who enjoy them and respect them.
The lovers, the respectful, simply understand firearms and place a value on them as tools, and what they mean as tools (freedom, capability, survivability).
The haters, the afraid, love their hate and their fear - Hate and fear are power, for those who have none and cannot gain it through any other means.

One way or another, the world is obsessed with guns.
